NYT Promotes #MeToo Ad Campaign Set for Golden Globes

The New York Times will air a commercial during the Golden Globe Awards as part of a print and digital campaign to highlight the issue of sexual harassment and promote the newspaper’s reporting on the subject, The Hill reported Friday .

In a 20-second teaser uploaded to Twitter, the Times showed their all-text commercial which flashes "He said. She said." several times, ending with the phrase "She said." displayed repeatedly.

The ad then ends with the words, "The truth has power, the truth will not be threatened, the truth has a voice."

Along with the ad, the Times stated in the Twitter post, "We hold power to account. Without fear or favor. New York Times journalists worked with their sources, often for months, to reveal the truth about persistent sexual harassment across many industries."

The Times broke several major stories about high-profile figures involved in sexual harassment, including the first major story about Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, according to The Hill. They also published stories about former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, Russell Simmons and others.
