Police identify victim in Norwich stabbing

NORWICH – Norwich police identified the victim Wednesday morning they say was hospitalized with serious injuries in a stabbing incident Sunday night in downtown Norwich.

Police identified the victim as Justin Nadeau, 21, and said he is still at the William W. Backus Hospital.

Police say they are still searching for a suspect in the incident.

At 8:17 p.m., Sunday, police and emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Franklin Street at Willow Street for an assault victim, police said in a press release early Monday.

Police said in the release that a female 911 caller was driving through the area and reported she located a man who may have been shot and stabbed.

Upon arriving to the scene, police said officers found a male 21-year-old victim on the sidewalk at 99 Franklin Street.Police say the victim had sustained numerous stab wounds to his body and head.Police secured the scene and the victim was transported to the William W.
