Prostitution bust at illegal massage parlor in Stamford

STAMFORD-City police on Wednesday arrested two women following a raid on a Summer Street apartment where an illegal massage parlor was allegedly offering sex services to its customers.

Capt. Richard Conklin said officers in the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad obtained intelligence that women were offering massages and prostitution at an apartment near First Street at 1392 Summer Street. A police officer posing as a member of the public paid a visit at about 2:30 p.m. and paid up-front for a massage.

During the massage the woman offering the service allegedly told the undercover officer about a number of sexual services she could preform and their prices.

At that point, the officer gave a prearranged signal and the apartment was raided by uniformed and undercover officers. Conklin said that during the search, police found $2,532 in cash and a large amount of new condoms and used ones in the trash.

Police also confiscated lubricants and sex toys.

A 60-year-old woman, Grace Zeolla, of Stamford, was charged with permitting prostitution, promoting prostitution and practicing massage without a license.
