CHELMSFORD — A man was arrested last week for alleged lewd behavior in a public restroom at the Chelmsford rest stop off Interstate 495 south, police say.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a witness reported two men engaging in sexual activity inside the men’s bathroom at the rest area, according to a police report.
The witness saw one of the men leave and get into a car, and recorded the license plate number, according to a police report.
State police arrested 75-year-old Chelmsford resident Ronald Marsella after identifying the license plate number and pulling him over, according to a police report.
Marsella was charged with lewdness, unnatural act and indecent exposure.
Marsella was arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court. Judge Ellen Caulo released Marsella on the condition that he stay away from the rest area. He will return August 14 for a pretrial hearing.For a charge of lewdness, Marsella faces a maximum penalty of three years in state prison, two years in jail, or a fine of up to $300.For a charge of unnatural act, he faces up to five years in state prison, 2 ½ years in jail or house of correction, or a fine of more than $100 but under $1,000.For […]
