Police activity hoax at Jennifer Dulos home creates online stir

NEW CANAAN — A hoax of police activity at Jennifer Dulos’ home created an online frenzy late Thursday afternoon.

New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said it was a “false report” and there was no activity at the Welles Lane home Jennifer Dulos has been renting.

The original “false report” post was made on a Facebook discussion group page titled “ Where is Jennifer Dulos? Case Discussion.” The group has more than 4,000 followers. Administrators for the group said they’ve since turned on post approval.

The hoax post read: “OMG Jennifer’s house-NC. Just now, police, lots of black Suburban, few white vehicles, ambulance, couple of red trucks that say ‘Hutchinson’ on them with DRILLS on the front. Something’s happening. I would go down the road, but I don’t think that’s allowed with all that’s going on.”

But most of the buzz started when a Facebook user shared that post on “Jennifer Dulos, Fotis Dulos, Michelle Troconis, Connecticut Case,” discussion group page, which has more than 9,000 followers.

“Breaking: Major activity at 69 Wells Lane in New Canaan right now. Ambulance & other vehicles,” the Facebook user wrote shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday. The post generated nearly 400 comments in less than an hour.Krolikowski […]
