A 65-year-old woman was kiled after being struck by a train Tuesday afternoon in Homestead, according to Allegheny County police.
Emergency dispatch was notified around 1:30 p.m. that a woman struck by a train at the intersection of Amity Street and E. Sixth Avenue.
A witness told police that the woman attempted to cross at an area that was under construction before she was struck by a Norfolk Southern train.
Her identity has not been released.
The county police department’s homicide unit was called to assist Homestead police with the incident.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
