An Arizona mother of three whose husband allegedly spent months plotting to murder her says she never saw it coming.
Dallas Michaels, 42, was arrested in June and charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of solicitation to possess narcotics after his mistress told police that he had spent six months planning to poison his wife.
“And that’s when they informed me that my husband was plotting to kill me,” Theresa Michaels told Arizona’s Family this week. “He was planning it for a long time and I was completely, completely floored.”
Theresa Michaels said she was on her way out the door for a camping trip with her three children when detectives showed up and told her that Dallas had bought fentanyl to poison her.
“This is the worst kind of betrayal,” she said. “He was so desperate to get me out of the picture.”
Dallas Michaels planned to blame Theresa’s death on an accidental drug overdose and use her $500,000 life insurance money to start a new life with his mistress, according to officials.
