KTRE 9 News in Lufkin is reporting that a man has been charged with murdering a woman in San Augustine County. Although the woman has not been seen in several days and remains missing, San Augustine Police say they have the evidence they need to prove that he killed her.
39-year-old Miguel Angel Gomez is accused of murdering Alma Rocha, who has not been seen or heard from since Friday, November 13th. Reportedly, Rocha, a mother of 4 children, disappeared after she got off from work on Friday.
Police are not releasing much information about the case, but it is reported that Rocha’s silver 2001 Dodge Caravan was later found abandoned in a wooded area near Etoile in Nacogdoches County.
According to police, Gomez was arrested on unrelated charges in Nacogdoches County, but he has since been transferred to the San Augustine County Jail where he was charged with murder.
Meanwhile, San Augustine Police are working with other law enforcement agencies on the local and state level as they try to find Rocha’s body.
