The man accused of fatally shooting two Westerville police officers on Feb. 10 was transferred to the Franklin County Jail on Sunday afternoon after spending eight days at a local hospital.
Quentin L. Smith, 30, was taken at 4 p.m. Sunday to the downtown jail from the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University. Smith suffered gunshot wounds, allegedly during his exchange of gunfire with Westerville police officers at his Cross Wind Drive town house.
Smith is charged with two counts of aggravated murder in the killing of Westerville Police Officers Eric Joering and Anthony Morelli.
His first appearance in Franklin County Municipal Court will be Tuesday morning. The court is closed Monday for Presidents Day.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien has said that when he considers Smith’s case, it could be eligible for the death penalty, because the two Westerville police officers were killed in the line of duty.

IT was the hardest letter that Pauline Murrell would ever write.
She was asking France’s Myra Hindley for the truth about how her daughter was murdered. PA:Press Association Joanna Parrish was murdered in 1990 in Burgundy in eastern France Twenty years earlier, a fisherman had found the battered and naked body of Pauline’s daughter, British student Jo Parrish, in a river 100 miles south of Paris .
Local investigators were convinced that language student Jo had been lured and then murdered by a depraved husband and wife, dubbed the French Hindley and Brady, who were jailed for life a decade ago.
Just like Myra Hindley and Ian Brady in the Sixties in Manchester, SHE hunted down young victims for HIM to rape and kill.
But French detectives had lost key DNA evidence against Monique Olivier and Michel Fourniret, and without a confession the evil pair could not be brought to justice for Jo’s killing. Getty Jo’s parents, who split up around the time of Jo’s death, feared they would never learn the truth So, in a three-page letter, Pauline pleaded to evil Olivier — a mother with three children of her own — to reveal what happened to Jo in 1990.
Despite her anguish […]

Nikolas Cruz, 19, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, gunned down 17 people at his former school in Parkland, Fla. on Feb.14. Cruz, 19, in a jealous rage, fought 17-year-old Enea Sabadini, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student, on multiple occasions after learning the teen was in a relationship with his ex in 2016, BuzzFeed News reported.
“He got upset about that and started sending messages to me on Instagram,” Enea told the site. Cruz — through a handle under the name Nikolas Cruz — demanded Enea stopped seeing the girl or else he would “beat him up,” he said.
Dana Craig, a friend of Cruz’s ex-girlfriend who went to a different school, said she knew Cruz had guns and said her friend told her Cruz. Dana, 16, also described Cruz as being obsessed with her friends.
